
Spark Portfolio Prep program has worked with dozens of middle school students to assist with the portfolio process.
It is our intention to mindfully help students AND parents navigate the portfolio process by preparing your
child and their portfolio for review. Spark gives direction and provides support to the student for both
the creative aspects as well as meeting all portfolio requirements for the desired school auditions.
Its never too early to start planning a portfolio!
Spark has a 90% success acceptance rate for our student's first-choice schools at the following specialized high schools:
Audition: November 2/3
Audition: November 15/16
Audition: November 30th
Portfolio Review: $300
Schools require 10-12 pieces are needed for most portfolios showing a variety of observational and imaginative drawing spread across various mediums.
To begin, we start with a 1-hour planning consultation where we have the opportunity to sit down with your current portfolio and one of our Spark teachers to discuss the scope of the project including:
• Specific portfolio requirements for your school of choice
• Knowledge of the process and what to expect for the audition
• Review of all current art pieces
• Outline a target list of work to create
After the consultation, you may choose to complete the portfolio either through:
Semi-Private (Saturdays) or Private Classes (in-home).

Portfolio Prep Classes:
Virtual Private Class: 6 session s (90 minutes)
Location: Zoom or Mutually agreed upon location : $900
In person Private Class*: 8 sessions (90 min) with a Spark Teaching Artist
Location: In your home: $1250
Private Class*: 10 Sessions Class (90 min) with Spark Founder,
Location: Alappat Studio: $1600
All Classes include:

Review portfolio and set "goal list " of requirements based on school

Continuous review of ongoing portfolio artwork

Sketchbook development and exercises

Live drawing (clothed models)

Interview prep skills and mock interviews

Short writing exercises to prep for writing component (if required)

Create the portfolio pieces: mounting, labeling, and professional display
* Privates are scheduled on a mutually agreeable time for both family and teacher.
** Payment: half of payment due prior to the program start. Balance due upon completion.
